Mr. Oka, in his career as an attorney and a university professor, has obtained considerable professional expertise and experience in relation to corporate legal affairs and corporate governance. Having served as an audit & supervisory board member of principal subsidiary of the Company since 2014, Mr. Oka also has expertise in relation to the business of the Kao Group. He has served as an Audit & Supervisory Board Member of the Company since March 2018, conducting effective audits from a professional perspective including group governance. In view of these facts, the Company has determined that it would be most suitable if Mr. Oka were to continue auditing as an Independent Outside Audit & Supervisory Board Member, and for this reason appoints him as an Outside Audit & Supervisory Board Member.
