At Kao, under the theme “recognize the uniqueness of each employee to create a better world” we aim to become an inclusive and equitable organization, where diversity is valued and is seen as our strength.

Main initiatives

We are committed to promoting the inclusion of diverse employees, focusing on key areas such as women’s empowerment, employees of the LGBTQ+ communities, employees from different cultures, employees with disabilities, balancing work and childcare, and balancing work and family care. We are also working to raise awareness of psychological safety and unconscious bias in order to create an organizational culture with strong communication and teamwork.

ERG(Employee Resource Group)

ERGs (Employee Resource Groups) are voluntary, employee-led groups that bring together individuals with shared characteristics or experiences, uniting employees around a common interest or cause.
Our Kao USA ERGs contribute to creating a more inclusive workplace.

Targets

  • Percentage of female managers related to that of female employees* is 100% by 2030.
  • Score for “Inclusive organizational culture” in our employee engagement survey is 75 by 2030.
  • * Calculated as a weighted average based on the number of management positions at each group company
