Q1. Can I use a different sheet of paper for my entry (not the official entry form)?

A1. No, please be sure to use the entry form designated by Kao as below. Applications using different form from the Kao-designated one will not be accepted.

Q2. Can I send my artwork created digitally?

A2. No. Any submitted artwork must be created by hand-paint only. Please note that works created digitally or using AI are not eligible for judging.

Q3. Can I apply by e-mail?

A3. No, we do not accept applications by e-mail. Please be sure to send your original artwork.

Q4. Will submitted works be returned?

A4. No, they will not be returned. As stated in ‘Contest entry guide’, ownership of the artworks belongs to Kao. Please note that original ones will not be returned.

Q5. Can I apply from outside Japan?

A5. Yes, you can. Please send your original artwork to the following address.

Q6. How should I paste the entry form?

A6. Firmly paste your entry form to the center on the back of your artwork in the same direction as the picture, using glue or tape.

Q7. Is it OK to fold my artwork for shipping purposes?

A7. No. Please send your artwork in a flat envelope, inserting cardboard or something firm to ensure it does not bend during shipping.

Q8. Is it necessary to fill in my e-mail address on the entry form?

A8. Yes, it is required since we will use e-mail to contact you after receiving the award. Please note that incomplete application forms will not be considered.

Q9. Is it necessary to fill in “thoughts and wishes on the painting” on the entry form?

A9. Please be sure to fill in them for gaining a deeper understanding of the painting.

Q10. What does “Entry becomes a donation” mean?

A10. Kao will donate 50 Japanese yen for each entry to the environmental protection organizations related to the applicant’s choice to support the activities of them.

Q11. Will you issue a certificate of participation?

A11. Yes.For applicants from Japan, a certificate of participation will be issued later and delivered to the address on the entry.
For applicants from outside Japan, please contact our office.

Q12. What is the difference between ‘Individual entry’ and ’Group entry’?

A12. Group entry means group submission from school or art class to which you belong, while all other submission means individual entry.
Individual applicants may also send multiple paintings such as their siblings, friends, etc.
