Development of Sheet Technologies that Support a Sustainable Society

As people’s lifestyles and living environments have changed with the times, our awareness of the environment and hygiene has been growing and cleaning styles have continued to evolve. Kao has proposed various sheet products according to the changes of the times and the transformation of people’s sense of value.

Developed based on our environmentally friendly sheet technology, Quickle cleaning sheets have the function of enabling anyone to clean and sanitize their living space quickly and easily. In the early days of development around 30% of their raw materials were fossil fuel-derived, but this figure is shrinking as we shift to recycled materials. In fact, we now use FSC-certified wood and plant-derived biomass materials, and more than 90% of the raw materials used are environmentally friendly ones. Toilet Quickle in particular has been made of 100% biomass materials since it was launched in 1989, and its design has been environment-conscious since the early days of development.

We will continue to develop sheet technologies that support a sustainable society by further reducing the usage of raw materials, including fossil fuel-derived raw materials.
