Raising Awareness and Sensitivity to Risks Among Kao

Implementation of education and awareness-raising

The management system and activity guidelines established by the Risk and Crisis Management Committee are regularly communicated by the Committee Secretariat to overseas bases and departments and affiliates in Japan. Kao uses the internal portal site to disseminate information to our employees, such as our risk management system, response flow in the event of a crisis, emergency contact points, and activity guidelines. In addition, through self-audits, we confirm the level of understanding of management policy and activity guidelines, as well as the status of implementation of activities, including those of overseas affiliates.

In addition, we provide education and awareness on how to respond to large-scale earthquakes, natural disasters, pandemics, information security risks, and reputational risks so that we can respond quickly and appropriately in the event of a crisis. We also provide information on precautions when using social media and e-learning on safety measures for overseas business travelers, overseas assignees, and accompanying family members.

For those in charge of overseas bases, we provide training on the responsibilities of the person in charge, sharing information on risks specific to the site, and information on past events.

Implementation of drills in the event of a crisis

We regularly conduct comprehensive disaster drills, emergency response drills, BCP drills, safety confirmation drills, media training, and logistics accident response drills.
