Kao Included "Top 5%" in S&P Global's Sustainability Yearbook 2023

S&P Global, based in the US, annually evaluates the performance of selected companies with ESG (environmental, social and governance) criteria, and announces the results in its Sustainability Yearbook. From among a total of over 7,800 companies evaluated for the 2023 Yearbook, S&P Global granted "Top 1%" awards to 67 companies, "Top 5%" awards to 86, and "Top 10%" awards to 111, including Kao as "Top 5%".

Kao established its ESG strategy, the Kirei Lifestyle Plan, in April 2019. In 2021, Kao launched its Mid-term Plan 2025 (K25), which declares "protecting future lives" and promoting "sustainability as the only path" as its vision. Kao will continue to integrate ESG into the core of its company management. It will also develop its business, provide better products and services for consumers and society, and work toward its purpose, "To realize a Kirei World in which all life lives in harmony".
