Kao Receives Minister of State Commendation in the First-Year Selection of Consumer-Oriented Management Companies for Best

Kao Corporation received the Minister of State commendation in the first-year selection of consumer-oriented management companies for best practice, an initiative recently launched by the Consumer Affairs Agency. The commendation is the official award given by the Agency to companies with best practice that have publicly made a voluntary declaration of consumer-orientation and demonstrated outstanding follow-up activities accordingly.

With a view to promoting "consumer-oriented management" by businesses to prioritize consumers, the Consumer Affairs Agency works with business associations and consumer groups to encourage "voluntary declaration of consumer-orientation and follow-up activities" among businesses. Kao made its Declaration of Consumer-orientation public in 2017 and announced the progress of its follow-up activities in 2018.

Kao promotes top management commitment, ensures corporate governance, advances the spirit of Yoki-Monozukuri to achieve customer satisfaction and provide products and brands useful to the sustainability of society, takes customer feedback seriously so as to improve its products and services, and provides information from the customers' perspectives and actively engages with them. These dynamic commitments and activities have led to the honor we received this time.

In Kao Way, the corporate philosophy, we affirm that our mission is to strive wholeheartedly to advance Yoki-Monozukuri from the consumer's and customer's perspective. Further, the Kao Way sets out the vision to be a global group of companies that is closest to the consumers and customers in each market, earning the respect and trust of all stakeholders.
