Kao Terminates Sponsored American Depositary Receipt Program

Kao Corporation (the "Company") has decided to terminate its sponsored ADR* program in the U.S. market. The termination will occur on or around April 30, 2018.

The Company started its sponsored ADR program in 2004 for the convenience of foreign shareholders as it facilitates the direct provision of company information. However, due to the spread of the Internet, company information has become readily available and the Company has decided to terminate its sponsored ADR.

    ADR is the abbreviation for American Depositary Receipt. An ADR is a U.S. dollar denominated negotiable instrument issued in the U.S. by a depositary bank representing ownership of non-U.S. securities. Sponsored ADR enables the issuing party to disclose information proactively to investors and other matters.
