Cape – pursues style keep

Hairstyling

Since its launch in 1976, CAPE has been used by many customers not only to keep their hair in style, but also as an item that allows them to spend the day with confidence.

In order to keep hairstyles in place, it is necessary to overcome the factors that cause hairstyles to fall out in everyday life, such as humidity, sweat, wind, and exercise, which can easily cause hair to become disheveled. In order to solve all of these problems, conventional polymer technology alone has the disadvantages of making the hair feel stiff and crispy, and of breaking down polymers when the impact exceeds the limit, resulting in a loss of holding power.

Kao therefore combined the polymer design technology of its Fundamental Technology Research Laboratories with the formulation technology of its Product Development Research Laboratories to develop the Impact Resistant Polymer after about three years of research.

By blending this impact resistant polymer with conventional polymers, a fine phase-separated structure was formed on the hair after spraying, mimicking a skeletal structure in the dried film.

This technology has made it possible to achieve both “holding power” and “shock-resistance flexibility” without making it crispy and resistant to moisture and perspiration. This technology is applied to the Cape FOR ACITVE (black) series.
