Kao releases consolidated financial results for the six months ended June 30, 2020 

In the Consumer Products Business, business activities were substantially impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic. In particular, sales in the Cosmetics Business and sales to hair salons decreased significantly. On the other hand, demand for hygiene-related and other products increased, but overall sales decreased. In the Americas, sales decreased 4.7% to 42.4 billion yen. On a like-for-like basis, sales decreased 2.5.%. In Europe, sales decreased 17.8% to 23.7 billion yen. On a like-for-like basis, sales decreased 14.3%. 
Operating Income decreased 9.4 billion yen compared with the same period a year earlier to 60.8 billion yen.
