Kao has developed the next generation of its current lotion pump system, which is part of its professional depot system and allows the dispensing of the exact required amount of developer lotion into the mixing - or application tool, before the hair color mass is added.

Compared with the current lotion pump, the packaging innovation features a reduced amount of parts (8 instead of 14), allows fast priming (2-3 times instead of 4-6 times) and is designed with click connections only so that no ultrasonic welding is needed.

Overall, the innovation is supporting a smooth, user-friendly and more sustainable operation.

The lotion pump was recognized for its functionality and convenience by the German Packaging Institute and received a Gold Award at the German Packaging Award 2021.
