Kao's GHG reduction target approved by Science Based Targets initiative

The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) approved Kao Group's greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction target by 2030. The SBTi is a collaboration between CDP, the United Nations Global Compact, World Resources Institute and the World Wide Fund for Nature. It assesses and approves whether the targets adopted by companies are "science-based", or whether they are in line with the level of decarbonization required to keep global temperature increase below 2 degrees Celsius compared to pre-industrial levels.

Target approved by SBTi: Reduce absolute scope of direct, indirect and CO2 emissions from Corporate Value Chain 22% by 2030 from a 2017 base year.

As a responsible global corporate citizen, Kao will continue to offer products that help reduce
environmental impact across the entire product lifecycle together with its business partners and consumers, as it strives to contribute in creating a more sustainable society through its unique ESG initiatives.
