Kao’s global business started with the introduction of our first product, Kao Sekken, in the late 19th century. It was the first affordable, high-quality facial soap in Japan at the time. Today, our global portfolio spans a wide range of personal care, household and cosmetics products. In the EMEA region, our business started with the acquisition of iconic hair care brands Guhl and Goldwell in the 1980s and has grown to 12 premium beauty brands in the hair care and skin care category as well as the luxury cosmetics sector. Today, we continue to build our business led by our founde’s values, a strong passion for innovation and a deep care for people and the environment.
