We, Kao (Hong Kong) Limited ("Kao (Hong Kong)", "us" or "we"), use and process personal information collected from or provided by our consumers, business partners and all parties who have dealings with us (collectively, "Customers" or "you") for various purposes, including the development and promotion of better products and services to satisfy Customers.
Kao (Hong Kong) is committed to protecting your personal data privacy in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, Cap. 486 of the laws of Hong Kong (the "Ordinance").
The term "personal information" shall have the same meaning as "personal data" prescribed in the Ordinance. The terms "use" and "process" shall have the same meaning as "processing" prescribed in the Ordinance which includes, but is not limited to, collect, record, hold, reveal, etc. Kao (Hong Kong) recognizes that properly managing and protecting personal information is an important responsibility and is necessary for preserving the trust of Customers who provide their personal information to us. To fulfil this responsibility, Kao (Hong Kong) complies with all laws and regulations concerning the protection of personal information and works to properly manage and protect personal information in accordance with this Policy.
We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal information about you. The following are examples of the personal information we may collect:
Kao (Hong Kong) will use your personal information only for the purposes disclosed to you at the time such information is collected and for the purposes as stated in this Policy (the "Scope of Use"), and will not use the information for any other purpose unless your consent has been obtained or where it is permitted or required by law.

Kao (Hong Kong) occasionally consigns the handling of personal information to outside service providers. Only service providers who have been confirmed to have the capability of properly handling personal information will be selected. Moreover, Kao (Hong Kong) provides and discloses personal information to such service providers strictly in compliance with the Scope of Use, and requires them, by written contract or similar means, to properly handle personal information, and periodically verifies their compliance.
Your personal information will be retained as long as necessary to fulfill the processing purposes described above. Once the processing purposes are completed or you otherwise end your relationship with us, we will remove your personal information from our systems and records or take steps to properly anonymize it so that you can no longer be identified from it (unless we need to keep your information to comply with legal or regulatory obligations to which the group company is subject).
We may also retain your personal information if your personal information is necessary to comply with any applicable laws or if we need your personal information to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim, on a need to know basis only. To the extent possible, we will restrict the processing of your personal information for such limited purposes.
Right to withdraw consent: If you have declared your consent regarding certain collecting, processing and use of personal information (in particular, regarding the receipt of direct marketing communication via email), you may withdraw this consent at any time with future effect. Right to request access to your personal information: You may have the right to obtain from us confirmation as to whether or not personal information concerning you is being processed, and, where that is the case, to request access to the personal information. This access information includes – inter alia – the purposes of the processing, the categories of personal information concerned, and the recipients or categories of recipient to whom the personal information have been or will be disclosed. However, this is not an absolute right and the interests of other individuals may restrict your right of access. You may have the right to obtain a copy of the personal information undergoing processing free of charge. For further copies requested by you, we may charge a reasonable fee based on administrative costs.
Right to request rectification: You may have the right to obtain from us the rectification of inaccurate personal information concerning you. Depending on the purposes of the processing, you may have the right to have incomplete personal information completed, including by means of providing a supplementary statement.
Right to request erasure (right to be forgotten): Under certain circumstances, you may have the right to obtain from us the erasure of personal information concerning you and we may be obliged to erase such personal information by contacting us in the way specified in this Article below.
Right to request restriction of processing: Under certain circumstances, you may have the right to obtain from us restriction of processing of your personal information. In such case, the respective data will be marked and may only be processed by us for certain purposes.
Right to change or withdraw the scope of your authorization: Different personal data may be required in order for us to provide certain service or product. You may change the scope of personal data you have agreed for us to use or process, or withdraw your authorization or consent, with respect to any service or product. When you withdraw your consent, we will cease processing your personal data concerned and may be unable to continue to provide relevant service or product for you, which, however, will not affect any previous processing of your personal data on the basis of your consent.
Right to request data portability: Under certain circumstances, you may have the right to receive the personal information concerning you, which you have provided to us, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and you may have the right to transmit those data to another entity without hindrance from us.
Right to object: Under certain circumstances, you may have the right to object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, at any time to the processing of your personal information by us and we can be required to no longer process your personal information. Such right to object may especially apply if we collect and process your personal information for profiling purposes in order to better understand your interests in our products and services or for direct marketing. If you have a right to object and you exercise this right, your personal information will no longer be processed for such purposes by us. You may exercise this right by contacting us as stated below. Such a right to object may, in particular, not exist if the processing of your personal information is necessary to take steps prior to entering into a contract or to perform a contract already concluded.
When Kao (Hong Kong) receives any of the above requests from you, Kao (Hong Kong) will, upon verifying your identity, comply with the request, unless there is a reasonable basis to refuse.
