Kao Thailand won the 2022 I-EA-T Sustainable Business Awards in ISB Leader category. The aim of project is to develop the Social Achievement Criteria for Sustainable Development of the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand which combines 2 dimensions: 1. Business Impact Assessment (BIA), considered from operating CSR in process 2. Social Impact Assessment (SIA) which considered from CSR after process results. This project emphasizes and promotes on industrial factory standards to be accountable and sustainable to society and the community and to have credibility of measurements.
Kao Thailand teams up with 4 major organizations, Amata Corporation PCL, The Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT), National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC) and The Division of Vector-Borne Diseases (DVBD), Ministry of Public Health, launched the "Collaboration Project to reduce the spread of Dengue fever" where the project areas covered Nong Mai Daeng Sub-district, Don Hua Lor Sub-district, and Amata City Industrial Estate in Chonburi. The project aims to educate people on how to eliminate mosquito larvae which is the main carrier of dengue hemorrhagic fever.
• Bioré GUARD Mos Block Serum* Donation to communities
Kao Corporation has given support for Research & Development project by distributing 80,000 pieces of Bioré GUARD Mos Block Serum* , valued 6,500,000 baht to Ministry of Public Health.
• Research & Development Support for "RooTan"
In addition, Kao Corporation has supported "RooTan" application enabling health-related risks alerts, which developed by NECTEC and Department of Disease Control of Thailand, with an aim of supporting Thais to easily access to risk situation update, covering not just diseases spread, but other health-related issues such as updates on PM 2.5 concentrate, and a heat index relative to incidence of heat stroke. RooTan app also provides crucial guidance for self-preparation and spatial risks nationwide. Available for download via Android and iOS.
Kao Thailand together with The Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health and Takeda (Thailand) Co., Ltd. increases private-public cooperation with the launch of ASEAN Dengue Day 2022 under the theme ASEAN's Resilience Against Dengue Amidst COVID-19 Pandemic: Harness Innovation to stop Dengue with support from private-public sectors; the Embassy of Japan in Thailand; the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC); the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand; Amata Corporation Public Company Limited; the Dengue-Zero MOU; CP ALL Public Company Limited; and the Panyapiwat Institute of Management. This collaboration aims to build awareness and perception about dengue fever prevention in order to reduce the dengue fever cases and death in the future. In the event, presided over by Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health with total 600 participants joined both online and offline.
• Promotion of Waste collection & Segregation at communities
Kao Thailand organized "Waste collection & Segregation" activity, one of activities under "Collaboration Project to reduce the spread of Dengue fever", the activity was hold at community behind Wat Don Damrong Tham, Moo.5, Don Hua Lor Sub-district, Chonburi province as the area has high number mosquito larvae breeding sites with an aim to promote recyclable waste segregation (glass bottle, paper, plastic and metal) and to help locals earn income.
• Dengue prevention awareness activity
Kao Thailand and Takeda (Thailand) Co. Ltd., a representative from the Dengue-Zero MOU, expand its collaboration from ASEAN Dengue Day 2022 by organizing dengue prevention awareness activity in schools under jurisdiction of Bangkok Metropolitan to educate on how to prevent the spread of dengue fever and to introduce the “RooTan” application.
• Big Cleaning Day activity
Since the late of 2021, Kao has done field activities with Don Hua Lor Communities, Chonburi province and has recognized the problem of lacking understanding and knowledge on waste segregation and mosquito prevention among the locals, thus, Big Cleaning Day Activity was organized to build awareness and encourage the locals on how to eliminate mosquito larvae with the collaboration from private-public sectors to clean surrounding areas of Wat Don Damrong Tham.
Kao participates the Jang Wan Khar Project, one of "The Mirror Foundation" projects which aims to solve social problems and the issue of homelessness by supporting products under several brands, including Magiclean, Attack, and Haiter throughout the year. This support aims to boost the project's working team with products which can be used to clean public areas in Bangkok or when get hired for personal cleaning services. This effort can help create jobs for the homeless while helping alleviating the financial burden to the Mirror Foundation through the hiring of more target groups.
Dow Thailand Group together with Kao Industrial (Thailand) Co., Ltd. and World Vision Foundation of Thailand held 'Reproductive Health' workshop for 60 teenagers from Eastern Child Welfare Protection Home and Rayong Shelter for Children, by educating on how to use and eliminate sanitary pads correctly and enhancing comprehensive knowledge of menstruation. Kao Thailand also provided 500,000 pieces of Laurier sanitary pads worth of baht 406,250 to all teenagers throughout project in order to provide equal access. Moreover, teenagers were educated on the risks associated with sexually transmitted infections without unprotected sexual contact, the method of infections testing as well as the difference between AIDS and HIV symptoms to help teenagers understand and able to protect and cope with the risks by themselves properly.
