Kao qualifies for the highest rating in the "DBJ Employees' Health Management Rated Loan Program" by Development Bank of Japan Inc. for the 2nd time

Kao Corporation won the Development Bank of Japan Inc.’s highest rating in its “DBJ Employees' Health Management Rated Loan Program” as a company that is particularly superior in terms of its consideration for the health of its employees. This is the second time Kao has been given this highest rating. The last time was in 2012 when the Program was first introduced. Kao successfully procured financing under preferential conditions as provided by the Program.

Kao’s health management initiatives

In 2008, Kao announced the "Kao Group Health Declaration" based on the principle that without healthy employees, the Company cannot achieve its objective of Yoki-Monozukuri, which allows the Group to grow and contribute to society. Currently, with the goal of increasing the number of employees with high health literacy, Kao is engaged in health management which uses the PDCA cycle to increase employee health levels. To promote employees' health, Kao has been involved in organizational initiatives such as establishing a cooperative framework by employers, the health insurance union, industrial healthcare staff and external specialists. In addition, the company drives area-specific health projects on the basis of year-on-year health data for each branch/office, age group, occupational category, etc. Furthermore, best practices in each area-based project are shared across the Group for horizontal rollout of those initiatives.
