Kao and Takeda in collaboration with BMA held the "Dengue-zero School Project" prize distribution ceremony, aiming to instill dengue fever awareness among children and community through the activities

7 February 2024, Kao Industrial (Thailand) Co., Ltd and Takeda (Thailand) Ltd. along with Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and Department of Health held the "Dengue-zero School Project" prize distribution ceremony for schools and students who participated in. The Dengue-zero School Project is collaboration project under the Thailand Dengue Prevention and Control Memorandum of Understanding between Takeda and Kao and also support by BMA, BMA's Department of Health and Department of Education to jointly raise awareness of Dengue, one of Thailand's pressing endemic priorities. The project was piloted and rollout activities in ten schools in high-risk areas, such as King Phet School, Matthayom Banbangkapi School, Wat Rat Singkhon School, Wat Chaimongkol School, Wat Pathum Wanaram School, Chumchonmoobanpattana School, Wichitwittaya School, Surao Ban Don School, Senanikom School, Mattayom Prachaniwet School, one of the activities is to encouraging students and teachers clean up the mosquito breeding sites in their schools with over 7,900 participating students.

In addition, the competition of "The Best Dengue-zero School" and "The Best Dengue-zero Student" was organized from June – November 2023. "The Best Dengue-zero School" evaluated by the percentage of water containers positive for Aedes aquatic stages (Container index: CI) that found in each school measured by Health of Department and the ideas of campaigns or activities initiated by students and teachers rated by Kao and Takeda. "The Best Dengue-zero Student" which award to top 6 winners with the highest quantity of activities that they have implemented in their home or community. The prize distribution ceremony was presided over by Mr. Chatree Wattanakhajorn, Deputy permanent secretary of the BMA. The result of the "Dengue-zero School Project" competition as follow.

Kao and Takeda are highly expected that the Dengue-zero School Project will help teachers and students deeply understand and aware of dengue fever, also having knowledge and being able to eliminate mosquito breeding areas by themselves. As well as sharing knowledges to community's surrounding their school to together toward to a dengue free society.
