The inauguration of the Anak KAO – Healthy School 2024 was held at SDN Pesanggrahan 03, South Jakarta on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, commemorating National Children's Day.

The event was attended by Naoki Yoshigai, President Director of Kao Indonesia, Dr. Elvieda Sariwati, M.Epid, Director of Health Promotion, Directorate of Health Promotion and Community Empowerment, Ministry of Health, and Drs. I Nyoman Rudi Kurniawan, M.T., Director of Junior High Schools, Directorate General of Early Childhood, Primary, and Secondary Education, Ministry of Education.

The education program of Anak KAO – Healthy School 2024 is a tangible action of company's ESG commitment and strategy, Kirei Lifestyle Innovation, realized through the contribution to the Healthy School Movement via the 5S pillars (Physical Health, Nutritional Health, Immunization Health, Mental Health, and Environmental Health). This initiative targets children as the next generation and agents of change for a more advanced Indonesia.

Since its launch in 2016, the Anak KAO education program has educated more than 30,000 children in primary and secondary schools. In 2024, this program aims to increase awareness and behavior change towards clean and healthy living and reach more than10,000 children in five provinces: DKI Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Central Java, and East Java.

Naoki Yoshigai, President Director of Kao Indonesia, stated, "In line with the company's ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) strategy, Kirei Lifestyle Innovation, we are committed to realizing a Kirei lifestyle where people can live cleaner, healthier, and more beautiful with peace of mind in a sustainable environment through product and service innovation that is oriented towards sustainable values. We are very proud to continue the synergistic collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education to give the best contributions for the health of Indonesian children as the pillars for an advanced Indonesia."

The Healthy School campaign was launched in August 2022 by the Minister of Education, Nadiem Makarim. The Healthy School campaign is an effort for all parties to synergize and continuously emphasize the importance of implementing healthy schools with a focus on the main 5S pillars: Nutritional Health, Physical Health, Immunization Health, Mental Health, and Environmental Health in educational units. Through the Anak KAO – Healthy School 2024, it is expected as an initiative and a real contribution to the success of realizing a healthy school community in a healthy school environment.

Drs. I Nyoman Rudi Kurniawan, M.T., Director of Junior High Schools, Directorate General of Early Childhood, Primary, and Secondary Education, Ministry of Education, stated, "We highly appreciate Kao Indonesia's efforts in contributing to support the Healthy School Movement through the sustainable implementation of the education program of Anak KAO – Healthy School. This initiative is expected to promote the realization of Healthy Schools in educational units. The educational activities not only help increase students' awareness of the importance of 5S (Nutritional Health, Physical Health, Immunization Health, Mental Health, and Environmental Health) but also provide a tangible example of how the private sector can actively support government initiatives. With the pentahelix collaboration among the government, private sector, community, and media, it is hoped that the Healthy School Movement can run effectively and provide significant benefits for children in Indonesia."

The goals and values of the education program of Anak KAO align with the five pillars (Nutritional Health, Physical Health, Immunization Health, Mental Health, and Environmental Health) of the Healthy School Movement, which is also part of the promotion of the Healthy Living Community Movement (GERMAS) by the Ministry of Health, targeting school-age children. The Anak KAO is conducted in a fun approach, with modules tailored to the interests of primary and secondary school children and delivered by interactive medical personnel.

Dr. Elvieda Sariwati, M.Epid, Director of Health Promotion, Directorate of Health Promotion and Community Empowerment, Ministry of Health, said, "We welcome this synergistic collaborative program between Kao Indonesia and Ministry of Health, where the promotion of GERMAS in the community requires the involvement of various stakeholders, including private sector. Kao Indonesia has become a private sector partner of the Ministry of Health since 2021 with various health promotion activities to support the implementation and promotion of GERMAS in the community."

"Of course, the Anak KAO education program is very positive and beneficial in encouraging Indonesian children to adopt clean and healthy living behaviors (PHBS) as part of the promotion of GERMAS in the school environment," Elvieda added.

As an added value to the Anak KAO – Healthy School 2024 activities, Kao Indonesia also provides Waste Points in several schools under the spirit of Anak KAO BISA (Waste Wisely). Kao Indonesia acts as a facilitator for children to start practicing wise waste separation through simple daily activities, such as collecting used Kao product packaging to be recycled by waste management partners into valuable items, preventing them from ending up in landfills (TPA).

"The Healthy School Movement involves understanding and behavioral changes related to personal and environmental health, which is believed to be one of the key factors in improving the quality of life. Therefore, Kao Indonesia strives to continuously contribute through educational activities and other initiatives tailored to social issues and school needs, 'bringing knowledge into practical use' so that children can have a comprehensive understanding that drives the realization of the Kirei Lifestyle in daily life," concluded Naoki.
