Kao Indonesia Receives TOP CSR Awards 2021

As an Appreciation for Contributing to Create a Sustainable Society and Environment

Jakarta, Indonesia, 22 April 2021 – For more than 36 years, Kao Indonesia is committed to bring the value of Caring Innovation which is embodied in products, services, and social contribution activities for a more sustainable society and planet. As a token of appreciation for this commitment, Kao Indonesia receives the TOP CSR Awards 2021 organized by TOP Business Magazine, which coincided with the 2021 Earth Day commemoration. TOP CSR Awards are the highest awards for companies that have implemented CSR programs and Community Development effectively and quality.

Masahide Nishida, President Director of PT Kao Indonesia said, "This award is an appreciation of PT Kao Indonesia's commitment in carrying out social contribution activities to society and the environment that are in line with the company's business activities. We can also make this award as a learning tool to be able to continue to improve and develop the quality of CSR activities, where the company has implemented ISO26000 and the Kao Global ESG Strategy adopted from SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), as well as the implementation of Corporate Governance".

The judges of the 2021 TOP CSR Awards determined several main criteria in the assessment process. The first is the level of the company's CSR adoption towards ISO26000, the alignment of CSR activities with the company's business strategy, and the implementation of GCG in the implementation of activities and the role of CSR activities during a pandemic.

In its implementation, Kao Indonesia always carries out responsible business activities starting from the production process, has an eco-friendly packaging, and contains phosphate-free in detergent products. In addition, actively carries out educational activities for consumers and the public, including the education program regarding the importance of Clean and Healthy Behavior (PHBS) which has touched up to 7,500 school-age children who will be brought back virtually in 2021, as well as the Brand Social Responsibility (BSR) program, where we have educated more than 1000 mothers regarding how to process used diaper waste.

The role of all parties is very important in realizing a more sustainable society and environment, not only the role of the government and society itself, every business sector and organization is expected to work together synergistically, and Kao Indonesia will take part in contributing to making this happen.
