Kao (Hong Kong) partnered with PARKnSHOP eCommerce to launch Plastics Bottle Recycling & Upcycling Program "Return . Recreate". Promote Sustainable Lifestyle, Making Life Beautiful

Many Hong Kong residents want to contribute to the environment, but they may not have the opportunity due to the complicated recycling process or the distance to recycling stations.
Therefore, Kao (Hong Kong) launched a plastics bottle recycling & upcycling program "Return . Recreate" with the support of PARKnSHOP eCommerce, one leading supermarket chain under A.S. Watson group. It aims to promote O+O green shopping and recycling experience, enabling consumers to recycle their plastics bottles without leaving their homes.

During 25 May – 31 Dec 2023, consumers who purchase products online at PNS.hk can "return" their cleaned plastic bottles to the deliveryman when they receive their order. The deliveryman will then return the bottles to Kao for the bottles "recreate" journey. All brands' plastics bottles in laundry detergent, household cleaning, dishwashing, haircare, facial and body cleansing categories will be eligible in this "Return . Recreate" program.

Returned plastics bottles will be properly sorted by The Loops, a well-known Recycling company in Hong Kong. The Loops will then deliver the bottles to certified plastics processing factory to become reusable plastics pellets to make new plastics products.
To go one step further, Kao Hong Kong hopes to present the "new recycled plastics products" in front of everyone's eyes: not only to recycle the plastics bottles, but also try to upcycle the plastics bottles, giving them a "new life". Kao Hong Kong worked with an Upcycling company named Gaau1 Up, to transform Kao recycled plastics bottles to a recycled plastics flowerpot! From "Recycle" to "Recreate", providing a "new life" for a plastic bottle.
Besides, this program also gained the support from the Conservancy Association (an environmental NGO with the longest history in Hong Kong). They provide flower seeds and soil suitable for indoor planting under Hong Kong weather condition. Hence, a "recycled plastics planting set" will be made with the recycled plastics flowerpot, together with the seeds and soil. Kao Hong Kong also invited Conservancy Association to share some plastics-related eco tips shown on program website to spread plastics-related eco education to our next generation.

Consumers can collect e-stamps by returning three or more washed Kao and other brand plastic bottles to the PARKnSHOP deliveryman. Upon collecting six e-stamps, consumer will receive a recycled plastics planting set and electronics coupons.
