Bukit Mertajam, 16 August 2025 – Kao Malaysia proudly participated in the annual Blood Donation Drive organized by Kao Penang, held at Mydin Mall, Bukit Mertajam. Supported by Seberang Jaya General Hospital, this initiative is part of Kao's ongoing commitment to the community, addressing the urgent need for safe and sufficient blood supply in Malaysia.

Blood donation drives play a critical role in maintaining the nation's blood bank reserves, which are often under pressure to meet demand. With a single unit of donated blood capable of saving multiple lives, community campaigns like this are essential to support patients requiring transfusions due to accidents, surgeries, or illnesses.

This year's campaign achieved remarkable results, collecting 61 units of blood – exceeding the targeted 50 donors and marking a 30% increase compared to last year. A total of 77 individuals registered, with 61 qualifying as donors. Of these, 23 were Kao Penang members (30%), while the majority, 54 donors (70%), came from the public, reflecting strong community participation. The higher turnout this year was largely attributed to effective awareness efforts, including promotional buntings displayed at the Kao Penang premise and at the Mydin Mall entrance.

Kao Malaysia is proud to have supported the Blood Donation Drive for the second consecutive year, working together with Kao Penang to raise awareness and engage the public in this life-saving cause. Through generous product sponsorship, Kao Malaysia helped create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere that inspired donors to contribute.

Kao Penang Managing Director, Mr. Kiyotaka Nakai, visited the campaign to show his support and appreciation for the volunteers and partners who made this event possible. The campaign was made a success with the joint efforts of Seberang Jaya General Hospital, which provided medical facilities and professional healthcare staff, and Mydin Mall, which generously offered the event space.
