Kao Malaysia and AEON Jointly Raised RM25,000
with Malaysian Households to Support Those in Need

The global health situation continues to evolve. Nations around the world, including Malaysia, now shift their focus from isolation to coexisting with the novel coronavirus with the help of booster shots. One thing remains despite the rapid changes in virus transmission and public health policies – hygiene safeguards wellbeing.

The recognition and appreciation of hygiene as the foundation of individual and collective health drove the joint corporate social responsibility campaign between Kao Malaysia and AEON CO. (M) BHD. (AEON) last October. Held in conjunction with AEON's 37th anniversary, the "Shop for Hygiene Needs, Support Those in Need" campaign strived to enrich Malaysians from all walks of life with better access to everyday hygiene care and protection.



Hygiene was given a greater purpose for a month when Kao Malaysia and AEON rallied Malaysian households to come together to improve lives in ways that benefit the wider society. For RM37 spend & above on Kao's participating 99.9% Anti-Bacterial products – Laurier Fresh Protect, Magiclean, Attack, and Bioré Guard – the parties would donate RM1 into enhancing accessibility to everyday hygiene care and protection.

The campaign concluded with RM25,000 successfully raised by Kao Malaysia and AEON. The donation was handed over to the Malaysian AEON Foundation. A presentation ceremony – between Kao Malaysia President Mr. Ito Hirofumi to Vice President of Malaysian AEON Foundation cum AEON's Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer, Encik Shafie Shamsuddin was held at Kao Malaysia headquarters in Menara AmFirst on January 28, 2022, to mark the occasion. The donation, amassed with the support of new and loyal Kao supporters, would be channelled to the 'AEON Bersamamu' community assistance programme – a food aid programme established in February 2021 to extend a helping hand to families affected by income loss during the pandemic.

"Shop for Hygiene Needs, Support Those in Need" is the first of many corporate social responsibility milestones for Kao Malaysia in partnership with like-minded parties such as AEON and Malaysian AEON Foundation.
