(2nd from right), Mr. Surapong Atichadsrisakul, Chairman of Teamplas Chemical Co., Ltd. The program aims to raise awareness among Thai children about recycling, reduce waste, and maximize the reuse of plastics, with the expectation of expanding to more schools and communities in the future.
The "Zero Waste School: Turn Plastic by Kids Refun(D)" initiative is part of a sustainability agreement between Kao and CP Group, aligning with the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) principle. This approach extends producers' environmental responsibilities throughout the entire lifecycle of their products and packaging. The project encourages efficient waste management and the recycling of consumer-used plastics by actively involving students and school personnel. Key activities include the collection and sorting of plastic waste, assessing its value for recycling into post-consumer resin (PCR), and integrating recycled plastic into product packaging or repurposing it into recycled and upcycled products. Through this initiative, Kao, CP Group, and their partners aim to foster environmental awareness and drive long-term sustainability in Thai society.
