Does stress affect skin?

Stress does affect the condition of our skin.

When everything is fine, our body divides energy to be utilized in a balanced manner, keeping the body’s processes stable. However, when our bodies are under continuous stress, it is unable to maintain such balance.

Stress also acts on the body’s nervous system, lowering the functions of the digestive system and causing constipation and diarrhoea. A poor digestive system can consequently be a cause of skin problems, including chapped skin. When some people feel stressed, they tend to keep touching their face without realizing it. Such constant contact can cause skin condition to deteriorate.
