Kao Indonesia Supports the Healthy Schools Campaign and GERMAS with the Indonesian Ministry of Health and the Indonesian Ministry of Education through Education Program Anak KAO (Creative, Active, Optimistic)

- Kao Indonesia collaborates synergistically with the Indonesian Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) and the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek).
- Kao Indonesia re-conduct Educational activity Anak KAO (Creative, Active, Optimistic) to support the Healthy Living Community Movement (GERMAS) Campaign and the Healthy School Campaign.
- Anak KAO activity is carried out in 5 provinces with a total target of 10,000 school-age children participating.

Jakarta, July 25 2023 – Kao Indonesia re-collaborates synergistically with the Indonesian Ministry of Health and the Indonesian Ministry of Education to support the Healthy Living Community Movement (GERMAS) Campaign and the Healthy School Campaign (KSS) through Anak KAO (Creative, Active, Optimistic) 2023 activities. The Kick Off event was held in commemoration of National Children's Day on Tuesday, 25 July 2023 at SDN 07 Ragunan and was attended by Wisik Restu as Associate Vice President Legal, Compliance, IR and Corporate Communications Kao Indonesia, Dhefi Ratnawati as Head of the Health Literacy Improvement Work Team at the Education Institute of the Indonesian Ministry of Health and Dr. Abdul Halim Muharam as Widyaprada Main Expert of the Indonesian Ministry of Education.
Anak KAO Education Program is a concrete manifestation of Kao Indonesia's care and active role in conducting health promotion education to contribute in increasing awareness of the importance of maintaining health, personal hygiene and the environment through Clean and Healthy Behavior both at home and at school. Since it was first implemented in 2016 until now, Anak KAO program has educated more than 20,000 elementary and junior high school aged children and for the continuation of implementation in 2023, it is expected to reach an additional 10,000 other Indonesian children in 5 provinces: DKI Jakarta, Banten, West Java, Central Java and East Java Provinces.

Wisik Restu as Associate Vice President Legal, Compliance, IR and Corporate Communications Kao Indonesia said "Kao Indonesia is continuously committed to continue contributes in improving the quality of life of the Indonesian people through its products and services. And in line with our ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) strategy, Anak KAO Education activities are a concrete manifestation of our contribution, especially in supporting the implementation of the Healthy Living Community Movement (GERMAS) and Healthy Schools Campaign. The Healthy Schools Campaign was launched last August 2022, by the Minister of the Ministry of Education, Mr. Nadiem Makarim. The Healthy Schools Campaign is an contribution by all parties, from the central government to local governments, partners, education units and other community stakeholders, to synergize and continuously emphasize the importance of implementing healthy schools with emphasize on the main pillars of 3H, namely Healthy Nutrition, Healthy Physical and Healthy Immunization in educational units.

Dr. Abdul Halim Muharam as Widyaprada Main Expert of the Indonesian Ministry of Education said, "This Anak KAO Education Activity is a concrete manifestation of Kao Indonesia's role as a private sector partner of the Ministry of Education which is in line with the Healthy School Campaign (Healthy Physical, Healthy Nutrition, and Healthy Immunization). We appreciate the contribution and support of synergistic collaboration innitiatives carried out by Kao Indonesia as a private sector through Anak KAO Education activities which are very much needed in realizing Healthy Schools. Because basically, the Healthy Schools Campaign is the effort of all parties, from the central government to local governments, partners, education units, the private sector and other community stakeholders, as well as teachers and parents."
The pillars of Healthy Physical, Healthy Nutrition and Healthy Immunization in the Healthy School Campaign pillar, are also part of the implementation of the Healthy Living Community Movement (GERMAS) launched by the Ministry of Health with a focus on school-age children. Anak KAO Education activities, which have been running since 2016, also have the same values and goals as the Healthy Schools Campaign and GERMAS. In its implementation, Anak KAO Education is carried out with a fun approach, modules adapted to the interests of elementary and middle school children, and delivered by interactive medical staff. At the same time, Kao Indonesia will also educate teaching staff in each target school so that they can reach more students and be sustainable.

Dhefi Ratnawati as Head of the Health Literacy Improvement Working Team at Educational Institutions of the Indonesian Ministry of Health said "Kao Indonesia has been a private sector partner of the Ministry of Health since 2021 with various health promotion activities to support the implementation and acculturation of GERMAS in society. Of course we support health promotion activities through this Anak KAO Education. In addition to PHBS education, education related to Menstrual Hygiene Management and social media wise guidelines for children and adolescents is also important and becomes an additional point in the education that will be held later. This education is expected to have a positive impact on students so that the achievements of the nation's children can increase."
As an added value to Anak KAO Education activities this time, Kao Indonesia also introduced the latest innovation of the WOSH hand washing machine, which is environmentally friendly, water-saving and can be used for 500 times hand washing with only 1 gallon of water (20 liters). This hand washing machine will also be placed in certain periods in several schools that lack access to clean water for sanitation, so that it is expected to support the implementation of PHBS for the school community.
"Once again, this educational activity is a collaboration and a form of real implementation of the Pentahelix Partnership which involves the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education from government elements, Kao Indonesia as an element of the private sector, doctors and medical staff representing experts, as well as media partners which are expected can jointly support the realization of Indonesian children who are healthy, strong and with character," concluded Wisik.
