Kao Indonesia Supports a Positive Work Environment that Prioritize Ethics, Safety and Security of Employees in Carrying Our Business Activities

- Victim and suspect for allegation acts of sexual violence that occurred in working environment were employees of PT Ikeda Indonesia and were not employees of PT Kao Indonesia.

Jakarta, May 12 2023 – Responding to the news and public information revolving regarding allegation of sexual harassment that occurred in working environment, Kao Indonesia is very empathetic towards the complainant as a victim and deeply regrets the incident, and ensures that both the suspect and the victim are not employees of PT Kao Indonesia.

Regarding this case, PT Kao Indonesia immediately gave instructions to PT Ikeda as the Outsourcing Company to lay off the reported suspect of sexual harassment case during the ongoing legal process. Previously Deputy Minister of Manpower Afriansyah Noor had visited PT Kao Indonesia and was well received for direct discussions with representatives of PT Kao Indonesia and appreciated the steps that had been taken. "We were told earlier that PT Kao had asked PT Ikeda to temporarily lay off the problematic manager while the law was in progress," He said while inspecting PT Kao Indonesia, Thursday 11 May 2023.

"We are very empathetic and regret the case of sexual harassment allegation in working environment and provide the full support needed, especially to victim during the legal process. Both the victim and the suspect were employees of PT Ikeda who were placed at PT Kao Indonesia.
