Merries Skin Protection, the First Diaper with Natural Tea Extract to Protect Baby's Skin Stay Hygienic

Jakarta, October 12th 2021 - Today Kao Indonesia officially launched Merries Skin Protection, the newest diaper line from Merries and the first in Indonesia with natural tea extract which is known as antibacterial and anti-inflammatory proven to give extra hygienic protection for baby's skin. Having a baby is the most exciting moment but also thrilling for every parent. The presence of the baby is certainly provide big changes and challenges for parents' lives, especially when the baby is born during this COVID-19 pandemic. Indonesia is within the country with the highest number of births for 9 months since the WHO declaration of a pandemic, which was 4 million births.*1 In addition, according to the BKKBN, the birth rate in Indonesia increased by 10 percent due to the discontinuation of contraceptive use. Many people are reluctant and afraid to go to health facilities to install contraceptives during the pandemic.*2 Based on research, the reallocation of spending for hygiene & personal care needs is the second priority after food and daily necessities due to this pandemic. However the positive sides of the pandemic according to the survey results is the increasing health awareness.*3 Based on market data 2020, the consumption of baby products increased during the pandemic, especially baby diaper products, which increased by 8% from 2019.*4
