Kao Indonesia Supports Mutual Cooperation (Gotong Royong) COVID-19 Vaccination

Jakarta, May 31st 2021 - Kao Indonesia supports the Mutual Cooperation (Gotong Royong) COVID-19 Vaccination program. Gotong Royong Vaccination is an official vaccination program carried out by the government through the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (KADIN) for business entities and the industrial sector with the aim of accelerating the creation of herd immunity (group immunity) against COVID-19, where vaccination financing is carried out by the company for all its employees.

Kao Indonesia has registered all employees and their families as potential recipients of the Gotong Royong COVID-19 Vaccination. Sinopharm Vaccine for batch 1 have been received by Kao Indonesia and have been given to company employees through a vaccination process carried out by Kimia Farma on Thursday, May 27, 2021. Vaccinations are located at Jakarta Head Office as well as at Kao Indonesia's production facilities in Cikarang and Karawang.

Masahide Nishida, President Director of Kao Indonesia said, "Kao Indonesia is committed to always prioritizing the health and safety of all its employees, one of which is by supporting the government in overcoming the COVID-19 health crisis. We hope that the many business entities and industries participating in the Gotong Royong Vaccination program can help accelerate the creation of herd immunity, socio-economic recovery and also improve the quality of life of the community."

During the pandemic situation that has been going on so far, Kao Indonesia as one of the providers of daily necessities (Consumer Goods), one of which is hygiene products such as hand washing soap, bath soap and hand sanitizer, always trying to be able to maintain production processes and capacity as well as product distribution to meet consumer needs in maintaining cleanliness to prevent transmission of COVID-19.

"With this vaccination, my colleagues and I at the factory are more at peace in maintaining the production process. This shows that Kao Indonesia put the health and safety of its employees as high priority. Hopefully, we can increase our productivity and enthusiasm to work in meeting the needs of the Indonesian society." said Satrio Budi – representative of Kao Indonesia’s production facility employees.

The aim of the Gotong Royong Vaccination activity is to create a healthy and safe work environment for all company employees, so that they are always able to carry out their respective roles, so as to maintain the sustainability of company productivity in order to support national socio-economic recovery.

"I am very grateful to finally get the COVID-19 vaccination that was facilitated by Kao Indonesia. The process is fast, the procedure is clear, and the health facilities provided are also complete. So I feel safe during the vaccination process, " explained Pratomo Ari, representative of Kao Indonesia employees.

Kao Indonesia always implements strict health protocols in carrying out daily business operations and complies with applicable government regulations, such as limiting the number of employees working in the office, giving masks, vitamins, hand sanitizers, increasing hand washing places, providing personal hygiene education, as well as other procedures that have been determined. "We hope that the availability of the vaccine will run smoothly so that all employees can get vaccinated in the near future, " added Nishida.
