Kao Wins a Place in the Carbon Clean 200 for the Second Year in a Row

Tokyo—Kao Corporation, a leading manufacturer of personal care, household and cosmetics products, was named one of the Corporate Knights' Carbon Clean 200 (Clean200) for the second year in a row.

The Carbon Clean 200 is an index which is published by the Canadian media and research company Corporate Knights in partnership with U.S. non-profit, As You Sow. The Clean 200 ranks the largest publicly listed companies by their total clean energy revenues, with a few additional screens to help ensure the companies are indeed building the infrastructure and services needed for what Lester Brown and many others have called "The Great Energy Transition" in a just and equitable way.

The Kao Group launched the Kirei Lifestyle Plan, its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) strategy, in April 2019. Kao aims to integrate ESG into the core of its company management to accelerate business growth and create products and services of better value for consumers and society. Kao is committed to implementing its unique ESG activities globally for the wholehearted satisfaction and enrichment of the lives of people worldwide and to contribute to a sustainable society.
