Entries Now Accepted for the 3rd Kao International Environment Painting Contest for Children

Kao Corporation (President and CEO: Motoki Ozaki) accepts entries for the 3rd Kao International Environment Painting Contest for Children, beginning April 12, 2012.

In 2009, Kao announced its "Kao Environmental Statement," and positioned ecology at the core of management under the theme of "eco together." Through "eco together" in action, Kao aims to build a strong collaboration with consumers and business partners for promoting wide-ranging initiatives for environmental conservation, while proposing ecological methods through the whole product life-cycle - from the procurement of raw materials to manufacturing, distribution, use, and final disposal.

Taking this to heart, since 2010 the Kao Group has been holding the Kao International Environment Painting Contest for Children. Our intention is to encourage children - on whose shoulders the responsibility for caring for the Earth will fall - to think seriously about protecting the environment by depicting things that can be done in everyday life. At the same time, we hope that their involvement will encourage their friends, and even adults, to also take action.

Prize-winning works will be on display at the Eco-Products 2012 exhibition held in Tokyo in December. In addition, winners of the 'eco together' - Planet Earth Grand Prix and the 'eco together' - Kao Prize will also be invited, from wherever they live, to attend the award ceremony at the venue. The contest is being widely publicized all over the world, both via the Kao website and through other media.
