Now Open: Entries Invited The 2nd Kao International Environment Painting Contest for Children

From April 20, 2011, Kao Corporation (President and CEO: Motoki Ozaki) is inviting entries for the Second Kao International Environment Painting Contest for Children.

To further promote Yoki-Monozukuri* the Kao Group has continued to engage in business activities intended to help consumers bring the way they live into a new harmony with the global environment.

In 2009, Kao issued the "Kao Environmental Statement". Under the banner "eco together," ecology became a central pillar of management philosophy. In practice, the notion of "eco together" drove the company towards closer collaboration both with consumers and business partners. Specifically, from the procurement of raw materials through to manufacturing, distribution, use, and disposal, we began to seek more ecologically responsible ways of doing things. At the same time, we sought broader and stronger engagement with environmental conservation activities in the wider world.

Taking this to heart, last year the Kao Group launched the Kao International Environment Painting Contest for Children. Under the theme "eco together," the first contest attracted numerous entries from 37 countries and regions, including Japan. This year, under the same "eco together" theme, for the second contest we are again inviting children to submit pictures showing what we can do in everyday life to protect our precious global environment.

Prize-winning works will be exhibited in December at the Eco-Products 2011 trade show in Tokyo. From whatever country they live in, the winners of the "eco together 窶 Planet Earth Grand Prix" and the "eco together 窶 Kao Prize" will be invited to attend the show and the awards ceremony. In addition, the prize-winning works will be presented worldwide through the Internet and other media.

窶「 Deadline for entries
