Kao's Commitment to Product Safety and Quality Management

Our commitment to Yoki-Monozukuri as expressed in The Kao Way corporate philosophy forms the basis of our quality management activities.

Staffed by members who represent divisions of the entire company, Kao's Quality Management Committee deliberates and determines basic quality-related policies and key measures and provides internal oversight of company-wide quality management activities.

Kao quality management activities are implemented at every stage of the product life cycle spanning research, development, production, distribution, sales, and even includes improvements after products have been launched.

Ongoing safety assurance is given top priority at Kao. Accordingly, we set safety evaluation standards at the product development stage as well as safety management standards after products have been launched.

Kao has established a traceability system that can track products and ensure quality from the raw materials stage, through production, and during shipment and distribution. We also implement our Comprehensive Management System for Chemical Substances to ensure that raw materials and ingredients used in products meet quality and safety standards and are in compliance with laws and regulations.

Kao actively conducts research into health effects of food and aspires to deliver food products that can be enjoyed with peace of mind. To this end, we fully implement product quality and freshness controls from the raw materials stage to production processes, and track products from the initial raw materials stage to the end consumer.
