Kao included in FTSE4Good Index for the 10th Consecutive Year

Kao Corporation today announced its inclusion in the FTSE4Good Global Index for the tenth consecutive year. Kao received the highest rating for many themes.

Integrity has been at the center of how Kao does business since its foundation. Kao's corporate philosophy the Kao Way embraces Integrity as its core Value, and the Kao Group Mid-term Plan 2020 (K20), which began this year, commits to further advancing this culture. Responding to the needs and expectations of the global community as well as changes within the Group itself, Kao has revised the Group's code of conduct, the Kao Business Conduct Guidelines (BCG) last year, and has stepped up its efforts for the Guideline to be practiced by both executives and employees. Environment will continue to be Kao's focus, engaging with customers, business partners and society with the "eco together" campaign, pursued since the Environmental Statement was issued in 2009.

The Kao Group will continue to strive for the satisfaction and enrichment of the lives of people globally and to contribute to the sustainability of society by implementing Yoki-Monozukuri, a strong commitment to provide products and brands of excellent value for consumer satisfaction, with global perspectives.

The FTSE4Good Series is designed to help investors integrate environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into their investment decisions. The indexes identify companies that better manage ESG risks and are used as a basis for tracker funds, structured products and as a performance benchmark. The ESG Ratings are used by investors who wish to incorporate ESG factors into their investment decision making processes, or as a framework for corporate engagement and stewardship.
